Roles
Unless Binder to Market is the seller (our platform store), independent sellers pack and ship their own inventory. Binder shop orders must use the in-app EasyPost USPS label on the seller order page. Buying that label creates tracking and is the shipment.
Buyers pay shipping at checkout for each seller from the published rate table. That is postage (letter, bubble, or box band) plus packaging when postage applies. Sellers do not set checkout shipping rates. Payout timing is in seller payouts and fees.
Where we ship
We ship to United States addresses only, including military APO / FPO / DPO (state codes AA, AE, and AP). You cannot save or check out with an international address. Add or update your address on your profile before you pay. When address verification is on, we check street, city, state, and ZIP, and we block checkout until the address verifies.
When sellers receive funds
Seller payouts are not released before shipment. We hold funds for that seller until they buy an in-app USPS label. Tracking is on that label. Only then does Stripe Connect pay that seller. That way we can refund a cancel without taking money back from a payout that already went out.
Ship-by deadline (buy the label)
Sellers must buy the in-app USPS label within three business days after checkout. Business days are Monday through Friday. Weekends are skipped. Federal holidays still count unless we change that in marketplace settings. The clock starts when the order is placed. Buying the label meets this deadline. Pickup and delivery do not.
| Order placed | Label required by |
|---|---|
| Monday | Thursday |
| Wednesday | Monday |
| Friday | Wednesday |
| Saturday or Sunday | Wednesday |
If the seller has not bought a label by that deadline, the buyer may cancel that seller's portion and receive a refund. That cancel can add an internal seller strike. Missed labels are not refunded automatically. Use Cancel on the order when it becomes available. See pre-shipment cancellations.
Vacation mode pauses new Binder shop orders. It does not excuse orders already placed. If a genuine emergency (weather, carrier shutdown, personal crisis) will make the deadline impossible, contact [email protected] promptly. Do not wait for a strike.
Weigh, measure, then buy the label
Checkout postage is a published band. The live USPS rate uses the packed weight and outer dimensions (L×W×H) the seller enters. Pack first, weigh on a scale (ounces), measure the outside of the mailer or box, then create the label. Prefill values are a guess from the shipping band. Change them when the packed package differs. Details: labels and tracking.
If the seller buys the wrong service, under-declares weight or size, or otherwise makes the label unusable, the seller pays to replace it (a new in-app label and/or postage USPS charges). Postage adjustments EasyPost or USPS bill because declared weight or size was wrong may be recovered from the seller. Binder to Market does not gift a second label for seller error. A wrong address the buyer saved is handled through support or a dispute, not as an automatic seller reship.
Tracking and notices
Buying the in-app label creates tracking. We email the buyer and show the number on the order page as the carrier reports scans. Tracking proves handoff to USPS. It does not guarantee porch delivery. Economy (First-Class Mail) may have limited tracking. If tracking stalls or shows a delivery you dispute, message on the order first, then open a post-shipment dispute if you still need to.
After it ships
Once USPS has the package, typical U.S. delivery is on the order of three to five business days. That is an estimate, not a Binder to Market or USPS guarantee. Peak season, weather, and military mail can take longer. Watch tracking before you open a non-delivery dispute.
Packaging
Sellers must pack so items survive normal carrier handling. Follow packaging and shipment standards (sleeves, toploaders, slabs, sealed products). Every Binder shop shipment includes tracking because the in-app label is required. Inadequate packing that leads to damage can support a refund against the seller. Photograph damage and packing when you open a dispute.
Lost, delayed, or damaged in transit
Binder to Market is a marketplace, not the United States Postal Service. We are not the carrier. We do not insure shipments unless extra coverage is purchased on that in-app label. In-app labels do not sell extra insurance today. Baseline USPS indemnity on a cheap letter or light parcel is often far below card value.
Wait for the carrier's investigation windows when you file claims. Sellers may be asked for proof of shipment (the in-app label and tracking). Refunds for non-delivery, damage, or packing failure run through our returns and refunds tools. USPS may deny claims when packing was insufficient.
Insurance and signature
In-app labels do not sell extra USPS or EasyPost insurance or signature confirmation. Do not count on adding USPS retail insurance at the post office after an EasyPost label is printed. That is often refused. For high-value items, pack to the guidelines, use tracked parcel service (not a thin letter), and photograph the packed package. Extra coverage is the seller's own arrangement. It is not a Binder guarantee.
Returns shipping
Platform EasyPost return labels are available on eligible disputes when the seller's portion meets the marketplace minimum dollar threshold. The seller releases a label offer. The buyer prints it. Postage is purchased then and charged to the seller. Remship labels for missing items follow the same minimum. Below the threshold, resolve with refunds only. See the Returns and refunds policy.
