Order refunds and post-shipment requests (buyers)
Last updated September 2026
Your order page shows two different ideas side by side. Payment at checkout is what you were charged. That receipt does not change. Refunds & adjustments lists every return of money. That includes you or the seller cancelling before shipment, and a post-shipment refund request for a shipped slice.
If you paid with store credit, refunds may return to your card and/or restore store credit. See that guide for how splits work.
Before shipment: cancellations
Sellers must buy an in-app USPS label within three business days (Monday–Friday) after checkout. If they have not, you may cancel that seller's unshipped portion and receive a refund for those items, that seller's shipping share, and a proportional share of tax. Those refunds appear under Refunds & adjustments with who initiated the cancellation. See the shipping policy.
A short post-checkout cancel window may also exist. After that window closes, cancel stays locked so the seller can pack. Cancel opens again at the unshipped deadline if they still have not bought a label.
The Payment at checkout section stays as your original charge so you can match your bank or card statement. Your order page also lists the cards you originally bought for slices cancelled before shipment (when available). A cancelled portion does not look like a blank row. Only the remaining sellers stay under Items by seller.
After shipment: opening a refund request
- Go to Orders, open the order, and choose Report a problem for that seller.
- Pick a reason such as package not received, wrong condition, or missing items. The form explains what to write for your first message.
- Add photos when the reason requires proof (for example wrong condition). You can attach more evidence later while the request stays open.
Working through the thread
You'll see a message thread with the seller. Keep replies factual. Include tracking details or photos when they help. Sellers may propose refund amounts in conversation. Actual refunds are recorded when they issue a partial or full refund through the refund tools. Those amounts roll into Refunds & adjustments alongside any pre-shipment refunds from the same order.
Binder to Market does not treat buyer's remorse as a refund right. For wrong condition or wrong item on higher-value slices, the seller may release a return label. You print it to purchase postage. The seller is charged then. For missing items, the seller may remship above the platform minimum or refund. Enter return tracking after you ship. A full refund for that seller's slice is typically issued after they confirm the return (or waive it). Partial refunds may still appear earlier.
Closing the refund request
- Withdraw: Available only while the request is open and no refunds through this thread have been recorded yet. Use this if you and the seller resolved things outside the tools, or you opened the request by mistake.
- Mark resolved: After at least one refund through this thread posts, you'll see this instead of withdraw. It closes the thread and stops further refunds through that request. Confirm you're satisfied first.
- Sellers can fully refund their slice, which also resolves the request on their side once the full refundable balance is returned.
