Store credit (buyers)

Last updated September 2026

Store credit is account balance you can apply at checkout. It reduces what you pay on your card today. It does not change seller payouts or the items in your order.

Your balance

On your Profile, Store credit shows how much you can spend now. If you start checkout and leave before paying, part of your balance may be held until the checkout session expires. Then it becomes available again.

At checkout

  1. Review your order total on the checkout page.
  2. When you have available credit, turn on Apply store credit. We apply up to your order total.
  3. Due today (card) is what you pay on your card when the order is not fully covered by credit.
  4. If credit covers the entire total, click Place order. There is no card step. We still calculate sales tax and record it for the order.
  5. If you also pay on a card, store credit is redeemed after card payment succeeds.

Refunds

When you receive a refund for a purchase that used store credit, we return money to your card first (up to what you paid on the card for that order or slice), then restore any remainder as store credit. See also order refunds & post-shipment requests.

Multi-seller carts

Credit is split across sellers in proportion to each seller's share of your checkout total. That split is used only for refund caps. It does not reduce what sellers earn when your order ships.

Mailer codes

You may receive a code in a shipped package (a store prefix plus 8 characters, or just those 8 characters). Each code is single-use.

  • Store credit codes: redeem to add balance to your account. If the insert shows an expiration date, redeem by that date. Store credit from a redeemed code never expires.
  • Purchase discount codes: redeem to attach a one-time discount (for example $5 off orders of $20 or more before tax). Your Profile shows the unused discount under Store credit. On the cart page, a progress bar tracks merchandise toward the minimum. The discount applies automatically at checkout when you meet it. It does not add store credit. After you place a qualifying order, the discount is used up and is not restored on refunds.

Store credit appears on your balance right away. You must verify your email before you can spend store credit at checkout. Purchase discounts do not change your store credit balance.

Promotional signup discount

During some site promotions, new accounts receive a purchase discount when they sign up. No code is required. The amount and merchandise minimum are shown on the registration page when a promotion is active. The discount applies automatically at checkout after you verify your email. It does not add to your store credit balance.
